EarthQuake Media to Plan and Execute Multi-Media Marketing Campaign for Minyanville.com Re-Launch
NEW YORK, Feb. 23, 2004– EarthQuake Media, an integrated media solutions company, announced today it will handle creative and media support for the re-launch of Minyanville.com, the creative education and infotainment community that features animated “critters” to convey a broad range of financial information and insight.
The multi-media marketing campaign planned and executed by EarthQuake will include affiliate marketing, licensing programs, direct mail, direct e-mail and guerilla marketing tactics.
“Minyanville.com is one of the most unique and engaging sites on the web,” said Robert Davidman, chairman and chief executive office of EarthQuake. “We will support the launch with an equally engaging array of marketing platforms that will help Minyanville further build their online community.”
The revamped Minyanville site offers an expanded roster of financial writers, including 15-year-old whiz kid Timothy Olsen, author of “The Teenage Investor: How to Start Early, Invest Often & Build Wealth” (McGraw-Hill, 2003) and the subject of a domestic comedy series currently in development by Kevin Spacey’s Trigger Street Productions for FOX television.
Other new writers on Minyanville.com include Kevin A. Tuttle, president and co-founder of Church Street Capital; Jason Roney, founder of Tradeplotter.com; Laurie McGuirk, director of strategic investments at Endeavour Funds Management based in Sydney Australia; and Susan Wein, senior financial analyst at Conde Nast Publications. They join Todd Harrison, John Succo, Scott Reamer, Bill Fleckenstein, Jason Goepfert, Adam Brodsky, Greg Roberts and Brian Reynolds, chief market strategist at MSHowells & Co.
“The Minyanville community is expanding both the scope and depth of the valuable financial education it provides,” said Todd Harrison, Minyanville founder and hedge fund manager. “These enhancements will make Minyanville even more desirable for both active traders and anyone wanting to learn more about financial markets. Our mission is to create a learning ladder of education from pre-school to old school and the ABC’s to 401(k)’s.”
Launched in 2002, Minyanville has emerged as the web’s most unique financial infotainment site. When visiting Minyanville, guests and citizens can access a variety of content, including The Minyanville Gazette, The Ruby Peck Memorial Library, the shops on Main Street and free educational content at the Minyanville elementary school and the University of Minyanville.
The new “Buzz & Banter” feature will enable Minyanville’s paid subscribers (“citizens”) to follow the real-time conversations and postings by Minyanville’s team of market professionals. This timely commentary will touch on all areas and levels of investing as well as intra-day market catalysts. In addition to adding content and contributors, Minyanville has also been made more user-friendly with easier search and link options.
Minyanville Publishing & Multimedia, Inc. and The Ruby Peck Foundation for Children’s Education will co-host the upcoming Critter’s Choice Awards (www.critterschoiceawards.com) with net proceeds to support select charitable organizations. Beneficiaries will include Little Kids Rock, MENTOR/Los Angeles Mentoring Partnership, Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services, East Harlem Tutorial Program, Reading Rainbow and the Hollywood Education and Literacy Program. It is at this event that a Fender Stratocaster guitar signed by Warren Buffet, George Soros, Peter Lynch, Bill Gross, Jim Rogers, Paul Tudor Jones and other Wall Street notables will be auctioned.
Minyanville tourists can visit most of the community at no charge, but the dynamic content is available only to Minyanville citizens at a rate of either $17.95/month (regular access) or $24.95/month (premium access). Student visas are available to those with a .edu e-mail address for a discounted $10/month. Minyanville’s citizens currently reside in 56 countries and at 234 universities around the globe.
